Not for tourists – this reminds of my grandfather’s cellar in Germany – where – 40 years ago – we had similar mounds of coal – ready for heating, cooking etc – memories

Yup, a lot worse. A fine finish to a fine meal. Subtly smokey honey coats your mouth as you sip and enjoy. Tranquil.

In fact this is the first time I have tried snails. Quite nice, cooked in garlic butter and then spooned into a crispy vol-au-vent. The garlic was not overpowering. All around delectable.
